Topless California was launched in February 2005. As the name suggests the brand is from California, Los Angeles to be specific. While the label is new, the team behind the brand has been in the apparel & music industries for years and Topless California represents everything they have learnt during this time.
Topless California is about a 'whatever' attitude to life, not caring what others think and always pushing things to the edge. 'What Doesn't Kill Me, Doesn't Thrill Me' sums up the Topless California philosophy. They embrace this across everything they do from design to marketing to what they eat for breakfast (only whiskey and cigarettes.) They do not follow trends and do not pretend to be something they are not. They let the product do the marketing for them. Limited edition knit tops,
quality fabrics, detailing & innovative treatments & processes are their focus. They design their collections around subject matter they find interesting or amusing and it's a bonus that other people enjoy it too. In fact in their first season they opened accounts with some pretty cool stores and The
following continues to grow.
It has been a crazy & sometimes hazy beginning for them and they have some even bigger gigs planned for 2006, as Topless California prepares for its evolving world tour.
